A family reunion was held at her home, with a barbecue dinner on the patio. Her son ! and wife, Cliff and Lyle j Elliott and their seven children and families including includ-ing four great-grandchildren attended, all from the Utah area- , A jranddaughter, Cheryl Elliott came from Big Sur, Calif, for the family reunion. A baby boy was welcomed to the family of Chris and Jeanna Nielson, 321 East 700 South on July 29, born in a Bountiful hospital weighing 6 lb. 12 oz. The new baby will be named Geoffery LaMoyne and has two sisters, Lezli and Erinn. Grandparents all live 1 out of the state. Robert Webb and Noleen Arbuckle, 658 South 100 East, ! are parents of their second son born in a Bountiful hospital hospi-tal on July 30, weighing 6 lb. 13 oz. and 19'2 inches long. : The baby will be named Ryan Park and his brother Robert is two years old. Paternal Pa-ternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Bob Arbuckle, Cen-terville Cen-terville and the maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Park of Suga i City, Ida. Mrs. Rhea Park came to stay with the family for a while to help with the new grandson. Lew and Bonnie Gale of Bountiful took Gladys Walker to the 80th birthdav ODen house to honor Leone Ramp-ton Ramp-ton in Ogden on Sunday, held at the Mansion House. Mrs. Rampton a former Farmington resident, lives . with a daughter, Carma Close in Ogden. Another daughter, Annie May Johns also lives in Ogden and her daughter Evelyn Peterson came from California for the celebration. Gordon and Evelyn Van Fleet have had houseguests recently. Dr. Reed M. and Norma Larsen and daughter Kami drove here from their home in San Antonio, Tex. Mrs. Larsen is a sister of Mr. Van Fleet and the family came for the marriage of their daughter Lori Larsen to James Allred, married in the Provo LDS Temple. The new Mr. and Mrs. Allred are both students at Utah State University. Mr. and Mrs. Van Fleet ac-i ac-i companied the Larsen family 1 back to their home in Texas j and spent several days there before returning home by i airplaine. The Senior Literary Club enjoyed a summer party on the lawn of Wilma Miller on Thursday evening. Assisting with the dinner were Lucile Clark, Helen Hughes and Gladys Walker. Vocal music was furnished during the evening by Patricia Farr of Salt Lake City. Clara Richards is club j president, Wilma Miller, vice president; and Helen Hughes secretary-treasurer. The opening fall meeting will be held at the home of ClaraRichardsonSept.il. The Junior Literary Club held a summer dinner and lawn party at the home of the president, Lois Burnham on Oakridge Drive. Co-hostesses were Maurine Parrish, Leah Chamberlain and Wanda Williams. A business meeting was held to plan the fall activities, Maurine Parrish is vice president; Leah Chamberlain, Cham-berlain, secretary-treasurer. The first fall meeting will be a musical to be held at the home of Mary Clark on Oct. 2. Mark and Joleen Neeley, 326 East 700 South are parents of their first child, a son bom Aug. 3 in a Salt Lake City hospital and weighing 8 lb. 3 oz. Joe and Colleen Wilcox, Farmington are proud grandparents grand-parents for the first time and the paternal grandmother lives in Salt Lake City. Joe and Colleen Wilcox have had houseguests recently. Colleen's sister, Janet Andersen and daughters Candy and Allison of Carson, Calif, spent several weeks here and in Brigham City with relatives. Earl Andersen An-dersen came for his family and they returned home last week. Dick and Gail Davis of San Francisco were also guests at the Wilcox home, Dick is a brother of Colleen. While the visitors were all in the area, a family reunion was held in Brigham Canyon. Lamont L. Wilcox, son of Leo and Rosemary Wilcox, has returned from a two year mission for the LDS Church in the Mass. -Boston New England area. He will speak in the Fourth Ward on Sunday, Aug. 10 at 1 p.m. and will attend BYU in the fall. His parents drove east to bring him home. Lamont has a sister, Rosanne in the Japan mission field who will be returning in February 1976. A brother Wendell is in the Korea mission mis-sion with just over one year to serve. A Youth Conference was held for three days last week at the Rex and Glenda Rigby cabin in Oakley Canyon with 15 girls and six leaders attending. at-tending. Gizelle Fitzgerald was in charge of the conference and each day there were workshops, Olive Hodson presented an afternoon on beauty culture; Patriarch Smith of Salt Lake City talked on the life of Joseph Smith; Fern Pies demonstrated the Brazilian embroidery technique tech-nique and Donna Jones spoke on the Relief Society. Bishop Don Sims and Lloyd Pies held a service on Sunday and there were many hours of fun activities. Colleen Newey and children Chad, Melissa and Nicole of Richfield, Ida. spent a week with the Etsil Fishers' and they all attended the service on Sunday for the blessing of Edison Reginald Fisher, son of Edward and JoAnn Fisher in Provo. Bernice Bywater and daughter Kathi and Diane of Dublin, Calif, also attended the service and Alice Jensen of Bountiful was present. Mrs. Bywater brought daughter Kathi to join a group who left on a Hawaiian tour. The several families went to the home of Edward and Joann Fisher following the services for a visit with other relatives. Edward Fisher and family will move to Moab in a short time where he will be teaching art and photography, pho-tography, arts and crafts in the high school there. A number of babies were blessed and named in the Third Ward Services on Sunday. Sun-day. Bishop Edward and Jaycene Soper's son was named David Patton and family guests were Mr. and Mrs. David Noakes of Kays-ville, Kays-ville, grandparents of the baby and Sandra Noakes, an aunt of Pocatello, Ida. Clyde and Susan Terry named their son Jeffery Ben and out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Wood of Kaysville; Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Terry, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Terry, all of Lay ton; Mr. and Mrs. Garry Lund-berg, Lund-berg, and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Wood, all of Roy. The son of Charles and Sally Clark was named Andrew and special guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Max Tennant, all of Salt Lake City. Laurence and Maretta Miller and daughter Linda Housley and baby daughter Tammy of Wilder, Ida., drove to Dallas, Tex. to visit with Jim and Deanna Hutchison and children, Frank and Kelley for their vacation. On their return trip they drove through Oklahoma City, Dodge City, Kansas and the Royal Gorge in Colorado. Linda and baby, whose husband, St.-Sgt. Jim Housley is serving in the U.S. Army in Thailand, has been visiting here with her parents for several months. They plan to return to their home in Idaho at the end of this week. There was a family reunion in July when guests were Bob and Glenda Van Fleet, Shelley and Troy of San Francisco; Jay Dell and Ann Miller and sons, Jason and Gregory of Layton; Rick and Jolin Miller, Ogden; Weston and Vickie Butterfield and Matthew of Farmington; Linda Lin-da Housley and Tammy, all at the Laurence and Maretta home in Farmington. They celebrated Bob's birthday at this time. Willis and Yvonne Tavlor, Mark and Gay, 1067 North 300 West in Farmington, have moved to Mountain Green in Weber Canyon. Donna Hess has returned home after a two week vacation vaca-tion in Long Beach, Calif. She visited with her sister and family, Larry and Nancy Cade and baby Sandy. Larry is serving in the U.S. Navy in that area. Nancy and Sandy traveled home by airplane with Donna to visit with relatives here. Van and Barbara Bass and sons Scott and Brett have returned re-turned from a holiday stopping stop-ping at Bear Lake and Minnetonka Caves as they went on north to Montpelier, Ida. where Gary and Helen Drazan and daughter of Farmington Far-mington joined them. The two families went on to Yellowstone Park and Jackson Jack-son Hole, Wyo. and returned by way of Island Park where they had some excellent fishing. Recent guests at the home of Laura Castano and family have been Laura Jean Worthin and children Charlie and Janet of Little America, Wyo. Rebecca Hatch and small daughter Becky Ann of . Denver, Colo, are houseguests at the Castano home this week. Ivan and Vi Schryver have entertained Vi's sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Pratt and Mrs. Grace Cratoe of Sioux Falls, S. D. this past week. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ken-nard Ken-nard and family of Cardston, Alberta, Canada have been guests of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin J. Kennard. There were two family reunions held while they were visiting, the Scholes family affair in Logan Canyon and the Kennard family reunion in Sugarhouse Park. The sixth grandchild of the Ralph Kennards' was bom to Ken and Candy Kennard of American Fork while they were visiting, making the 10th grandchild of Mr. and Mrs. F.J. Kennard. On July 29 Raeburn and Nancy Kennard became parents of their third child, a girl. The sister and brother, Elise and Nathan stayed with the grandparents for several weeks. This was the 43rd grandchild for them. Gladys Kennard accompanied accom-panied Jarene Tanner and her mother, Mrs. Cook of Ogden, to a shower for the new baby, in American Fork. On July 30, the Kennards' attended the wedding of a grandson, Michael Hendrik-sen Hendrik-sen and Ruth Hill in Manti, where they spent the day and evening. Gladys Kennard was honored on Aug. 4 at a get together of the family, to celebrate her birthday. The affair was held at the home of James and Eleanor Kennard and family in Stansbury Park. |
