Show DEATH BEATH OF FATHER ALLEN TAYLOR the death of father allen alien taylor occurred at loa lioa piute diute county utah on december esth deceased was the son BOD of william taylor and elizabeth patrick and was born at bowling green warren county kentucky on january letb 1814 from that place he moved with his fathers family to monroe county missouri and there j ined the church having been baptized by daniel cathcart Cat hoart in the spring of 1832 he was waa married september bab 1888 1833 to sarah louvisa allred during the persecutions and ivings dr of the saints in missouri he endured in common with his breth brethren reDi all the hardships without a murmur he was at far west at the time of it its surrender when the saints were driven from nauvoo brother taylor was among them and busted busied himself in assisting the poor to winter quarters he was one of the volunteers of the mormon 12 battalion but it who was deemed advisable for him to remain and help the saints and his bis family to utah therefore his bis brother joseph went in his stead the deceased came out with president brigham young in 1848 as far ai as the upper crossing of the sweetwater and was captain of the company he returned to the bluffs and came to utah with his own family the next year hewak H e was at one time bishop of ef kays ward from which he was called by president young in the fall of 1861 to go south and assist I 1 in n build building I 1 n g up the dix dixie te cou country where he remained until the fall of 1888 1883 he was then honorably released by apostle erastus snow consequently be moved to loa piute diute co where his bis eldest eldea son was residing father taylor was the husband of four wives one of whom survives him of his descendants out of thirty children twenty one are now living he leaves I 1 10 gran grandchildren d children and fifty six great grandchildren last spring he had a severe attack of la a grippe from the effects of which he never fully recovered cove although sufficiently to enable him to attend to his bis ordinary duties A few days before his bis eath beath his thumb was injured by a sliver this resulted in blood poisoning which was the immediate cause of death As he be had lived so he be died full of faith in the work to which the greater part of his life bad been devoted WILLIS E ROBISON |
