Show OBITUARY NOTES SARAH P KIENKE died at nephi january 1896 Sarak kienke of heart failure and general debility born at brighouse yorkshire england june 1832 1882 emigrated to nauvoo in the year 1846 with the saints was driven into iowa where her mo her died from exposure leaving her in care of other her she crossed the plains in one of the pioneer companies in 1847 in jhb fall and removed to 10 nephi in the year 1852 married to john kienke in 1853 1858 she endured all the privations of settling a new country and leaves a sons and two daughters she has been an earnest laborer ever since the first organization of the relief society as an of officer ticer and was always kind and benevolent ne to 10 the poor funeral services were held in the tabernacle the speakers being elders C sperry L A PLEASANT GROVE jan 19 1896 aled at Plea pleasant sans grove friday morning jan 1896 elijah mayhew born near bangor maine april 1807 brother mayhew spent his boyhood in his native state removed with his fath fathers drs family to indiana settled at what was after wards called Shel shelbyville byville and was a schoolmate of the late hon thomas A hendricks acquired a good education igni held several positions of trust acting as elerk of the circuit court at laporte co afterwards removed to indianapolis indiana and held the position of dragwa railway agent for a number of years until 18 1858 when he emigrated to utah settling at Pleasant t grove he was chosen bishope clerland clerk cler kand and etty city recorder which POA LIOng he be held with credit for thirty five years he served as selectman for two terms in the count yand was postmaster for fifteen years until the edmunds tucker law disqualified him elder mayhew was a man of good ability high in character and of nobility of week fanny gable wife of john wood she was born october 9 1815 at fawley sussex england married april 21 1840 and with ner ber husband was baptized int into the church ot of jesus christ of latter qualities were exceptionally good and her financial ability and economy were practically exemplified by surprising her husband on their wedding day with a handsome bank account standing to her crp conducting of the funeral services etc they were the parents of nine children six of whom lour four daughters and two sons are still living the other three dying at an early age they had nine of the sacramento branch of the church of je jenus christ of latter day saints passed quietly and peacefully from mortality to the realms of the departed brother garlick was born jan 30 0 1820 at sock port lancashire Eu england gland when at ibe age of 20 he heard the gospel preached in his native country he be believed it and by yielding obedience to its ordinances ord a was united with the church in 1849 with his family he emigrated to 10 st louis mo where he remained till 1854 when he crossed the plains and joined the saints in utah As work was at that time scarce and times hard among the saints he moved in 66 to sacramento where he found employment located and remained till the day of his death though our brother removed from the main body of the saints his influence for good and for the spreading of the truth did not cease by a worth worthy y and exemplary life and by precept he preached to the ibe people among whom he lived and during his forty years of residence in i he ci y he this life december 26 1895 was born in Denbigh shire north wales on april 28 1819 and was the ibe daughter of david and mary roberts roberta she was married on january 8 1843 to joseph griffiths in
