Show PARAGONAH NEWS NOTES By Hilma Lamoreaux Mrs. Wllma Lamoreaux and Mrs. Ililma Lamoreaux were in Parowan on Thursday evening of last week to attend a bridal shower for Miss Brcnda Bentley. LeGrande Robb arrived in town on Sunday after being In Nevada for some time. Miss Mildred Hunt Is in Too-ele Too-ele at present looking for employment em-ployment Lamarr Anderson, son of Bishop Bish-op and Mrs. James H. Anderson, Ander-son, is one af the six Iron County Coun-ty 4-H members who will be going go-ing to Logan next week to attend at-tend a State 4-H Conference. Charles and Douglas Murie have left town for the summer months. Charles is employed at Zion Park and Doug has gone to Colorado with relatives. The Ward Bee Hive Girls entertained en-tertained their mothers at a lovely love-ly party on Tuesday evening of last week. Debbie and Dcnlse Benson, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence Benson, Jr., of Parowan, spent the week end here with their grandmother, Mrs. Lasca Hunt while the parents took a trip to Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Barton, Mrs. Elva McBride and Mr. and Mrs. Dick McBride and their two children traveled to Las Vegas on Wednesday of last week to attend the funeral services for Mrs. Gwen Burt Mrs. Burt was a sister of Mr. Barton and Mrs. McBride. Mr. and Mrs. J. Leonard Top-ham Top-ham left Wednesday for a trip to Salt Lake City to attend sessions ses-sions of June Conference. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Barton are proud grandparents again since the arrival of a baby girl to Lynn and Joyce Barton a; the Iron County Hospital 01 June 4. Lynn is at sea with tr Navy and Joyce has been In Parowan with her folks. Mr. and Mrs. Elwln Talbot and their three children were here from Salt Lake City for a week end visit with the T. R. Robinsons Robin-sons and the Ren ford Talbot family. Jim and Bob Talbot were here from Salt Lake City to spend the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orson Talbot and other family members. Clinton Robinson and his daughters Lorraine and Beverly were week end guests at the Calvin Cal-vin Robinson home. They were here to attend the reception for , newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Lamoreaux. Mrs. Pauline Topham traveled to Pangultch on Wednesday of last week to take her foster Indian In-dian child, Clara Mae Allisan, on the first part of her Journey to her home in New Mexico for 1 the summer. Lanell Topham and Mike Williamson Wil-liamson arrived home Friday after af-ter completing their year of school at University of Utah. Lanell La-nell will spend a few days here with his mother before returning to Salt Lake. Mike is goi.ig to work for the Utah Parks. Kenneth Topham departed for Bryce Canyon on Saturday. He has summer employment there. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Robinson and their children, accompanied by tneir parents, iwr. ana Mrs. Gilbert Robinson and Mr. and Mrs. William T. Davenport, left on Wednesday of last week for an extended vacation trip. Mr. and Mrs. Davenport and the youngsters were going to vis- , It relatives In Price, Salt Lake i City and Montpelier, Idaho, while the others traveled to Illinois, Kansas and Possibly Oklahoma. They expected to be gone for two weeks. The Gordon Manzione family returned to Provo on Monday after af-ter more than a week's vacation in this area. Mrs. Bertha S. Topham enjoy-ed enjoy-ed hiving relatives with her last week. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Hul-linger Hul-linger of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Blood were here for Memorial Day. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Yardley of Gunnison and two of their grandsons spent two days here with Mrs. Topham. On Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. George Squires of Mt. Pleasant arrived to spend some time with Mrs. Topham. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Jones and their two small sons of Ely, Nev. were here for an overnight visit with the Blaine Jones family last week end. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Boardman and son Curt have gone to Riv? erside, Calif., for a few days' visit vis-it with Ruth's mother and other relatives. Mrs. Ramola Fretwell of Cedar City accompanied them to the coast to meet her son Lawrence Law-rence who is returning home after af-ter his tour of duty with the U. S. Navy. Miss Sherry Dawn Evans left for a trip to Salt Lake City with friends the first of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lund and Mrs. Elizabeth Maxwell were happy to have some of their relatives rel-atives with them for an overnight over-night visit last week end. They were Mr. and Mrs. Jess Warnock of Enterprise. Ore. Mrs. Llla Stones and her son Kip left for California on Saturday Satur-day to upend a week with Mrs. Stones' people, Mr. and Mrs. H. II. Kipp of South San Gabriel. Mrs. Mary Robinson and her daughter Sandra Rae are home again after a trip to Vernal where they visited with relatives rela-tives and attended the wedding of Mrs. Robinson's niece, Miss Beth McConkle. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Clark and their children of Henderson, Nev. are here visiting with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Arch Lamoreaux are visiting with the Chester Robinson family. Mr. and Mrs. Arvll Ashton, their son Darrell and his wife, and a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hamblln. all of Provo, were Sunday guests of the Chester Robinson family. A number of Paragonah people peo-ple traveled to St. George on Friday Fri-day of last week to attend the temple wedding of Clyde Lamoreaux Lam-oreaux and Helen Decker. Included In-cluded were the groom's mother, moth-er, Mrs. Erma Lamoreaux, his sister, Mrs. Laura Burton, Mrs. Pauline Topham, Mrs. Delia Top-ham Top-ham and Mrs. Hilma Lamoreaux. They were accompanied by Mrs. Ruby Bauer of Cedar City. A large number of Paragonah people peo-ple were in Parowan on Friday evening to atend the Lamor-eaux-Decker wedding reception. |
