Show Martha Dalton, 89, Succumbs, Funeral Saturday Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock o'-clock for Mrs. Martha Robb Dalton 89, well-known Parowan Paro-wan resident who died at the Valley View Medical Center on Christmas Eve of natural causes. The services were held in the Parowan First - Second Ward chapel with Bishop Bruce Matheson of the First I Ward conducting and with Ola Robinson at the organ for prelude and postlude music. Speakers were Barbara M. Adams and R. Taylor Miller, with remarks by Bishop Matheson. Math-eson. The family prayer was offprofl hv Wnnrtmw Dwkpr. The invocation at the services was by Rodney Docker, the benediction was offered by Harrell Dalton and the grave in the Parowan City cemetery was dedicated by Rulan Dalton. Dal-ton. Musical numbers included a vocal solo by Joann Lamor-eaux, Lamor-eaux, "Lay My Head Beneth a Rose," accompanied by Mary Lyman; a violin solo by Elna Stubbs, accompanied by her daughter Cheryl Lynn, and 'the song, "Oh, My Father," by a ladies' quartet consisting of Merna Mitchell, Jackie Robinson, Katrine Johnson and Janet Jones, accompanied bv Itha Moitonsen. Pallbearers were wore Adrian Adri-an Dalton, Donald Gray, Mor-roll Mor-roll Halterman, Wayne Decker, Deck-er, Floyd Evans and Kent Dalton, with Norman Evans, Fred Dalton and Steven Docker Dock-er as honorary pallbearers. The flowers were carried by granddaughters. The deceased was born in Paragonah March 2S, 1S79, to Alexander and Ellon Benson Rcbb. She married Jos. Bartlot Dalton of Parowan Nov. 5, 19(H) and ho died March 3, 1941. The marriage was later silemnized in the S George Temple. She was a member of the LDS Church and served as a worker in the Ward Relief Society, both as a visiting teacher and as a member of the quilt committee for many years. Survivors are a son and five daughters: Rulan, Mrs. Cliff (Arvilla) Halterman, and Mrs. Woodrow (Vera) Docker, Parowan; Par-owan; Mrs. Hilda Pierce, Mrs. Clara Gray, Lakeview, Ore.; Mrs. Vivian (Ada) Bennett, Brookings, Ore. Also surviving are 31 grandchildren, 35 greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Alex Kobb, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Ida-ho; sisters: Mrs. Alice Robinson, Robin-son, Paragonah; Mrs. Pearl McConnell, Cedar City, and Mrs. Mary E. Gurr, Salt Lake City, who wore all hero. |
