Show WORTHY Glimpse of S. .0 Mitton's Energetic Ener-getic Life. Samuel Crowther Mitton who died at Logan Dec. '27th, 1902, was born at Halifax, Yorkshire, England, May 27th, 1836. When jnir.e years old he removed with I his parents to Haywood, Lancashire, Lan-cashire, and at the age of eleven elev-en was baptized into tlie Church 'of Jesus Christ of Latter-day (Saints, MS parents having joined the Church previously. At the age of nineteen he came to America for the purpose of earning means -with which to ! emigrate the rest of the family- j In one year and a half after ar- j ; riving in Cincinnati, he was enabled to send for his mother j 1 and five children, his father hav-ing hav-ing died when on the same er-, ij-and to America, namely, to ' earn money to emigrate the fam-lilv. fam-lilv. He was a man well-read on nust topics and' especially was his aquaintance with the Scriptures Scrip-tures very extensive. He possessed a remarkable memory. Indeed, his power to remember what he had read was extraordinary.
