Show oo I HEATH CLAMS I K. Jjw uffi The unexpected death of Mrs, Jane Affleck Kerr occurred Saturday evening even-ing at 0 o'clock. Mrs. Kerr died of neuralgia of the heart at tho family residence, 2247 Monroe avenue, after a brlof Illness. Mrs. Kerr had enjoyed good health during the ontire winter and when death camo upon her she 'was- thought to be suffering nothing more than an ordinary cold. She was about the house Saturday until 2 o'clock when she was taken to her bed. Heart trouble manifested Itself and she grew steadily worse until tho end came, a few hours Mater. She was the widow of George M. Kerr, who was, for many years, depot de-pot master here. Born at Newcatle-on-Tyne, England, on June 2G, 1S-12, she was baptized In tho Taltb of the Latter-day Saints In her native land. On April 1C, 18C3, she wis united In I marriage to George Kerr, and on May '31 of tho same year they omigrated to America and Utah. They wero eight weeks on the Atlantic, making , the trip on board the ship Aynosure. Arriving nt Winter' Quarters, they i started out on their hard journey I across the plains to Salt Lake City. ! In Captain Thomas Rick's company. ! They arrived at Salt Lake on October 4, 1803. having walked tho entire distance dis-tance from winter quarters 'to Utah Mrs. Kerr was a very faithful mora- j ber of tho Mormon church and her be- uevolcncc wns well known to many I who had experienced her kindness. I She was tho mother of eight children, ' seven of whom survive her. They arc ; Georgo, Walter A.. James. William i and Andrew Kerr; Mrs. Jane Scott ! and Mrs. Isabell Wilson.
