Show HANDCART PIONEER DIES IN SALT LAKE Salt Lake, April 3. Mrs. Marie A. Van Orden Peck, 77 years of age, a member of the second handcart company com-pany of pioneers, and for many years prominent and active In Mormon church work, died yesterday noon at a local hospital. The body was embalmed em-balmed and removed to tho residence of her daughter, Mrs. Nettle Hanson, C4 West Seventh South street. Funeral Fun-eral services will be held Wednesday morning at 9:45 o'clock in the Seventeenth Seven-teenth ward chapel, and at 11:30 tho body will be taken to Provo for Interment. In-terment. Y., and came to Utah with her parents at the age of 9 years. When 17 years of age she married Edwin M. Peck, a membor of the prominent pioneer family fam-ily of the Seventeenth ward. Mr. Peck died about fifteen years ago and was burled In Provo, he being at that time engaged in business there. One son and five daughters survive. They are Edwin M. Peck, Kamas, Ida., Mrs. Julia Fowler, Goshen; Mrs. Nettie Net-tie Hanson, Salt Lake; Mrs. Edith Jenkins, Jen-kins, Alhambra, Cal.; Mrs. Nina FIfield, Falrvlew, Idaho; Mrs. Charlotte Char-lotte M. Woolston, Salt Lake. Mrs. Peck died from injuries received re-ceived three weeks ago at tho residence resi-dence of her daughter, when she slipped slip-ped and foil shortly after Bhe had returned re-turned from a visit to Provo. Sho had ever been a dovout member of the Mormon church and was noted for her activity in Relief society work. . oo THE WEIGHT OF NUMBERS.
