DEAD AT AGE OF 90; HAD 36 At 6 o'clock this morning Weber county lost one of Its historic charac-l ters, when Pleasant Green Taylor, aged 90 years, died at his home in lllarrisvillp The pioneer had been in poor health since February 8, when his 90th birthday was celebrated by a great family reunion, and he had grown so feeble during the last ten days that his death was expected at any time. Born in Bowling Green, Kentucky Feb. S, 1821, Pleasant Green Taylor went through much of the early persecution per-secution of the Mormons and was in nil the hardships which attended the repeated "moves" of the Saints. He came to Utah in 1850, and his second oldest son, Levi J., was born in Kay's ward in 1851. On September 15, 1S51 tho little family arrived at Harrisville' where tho pioneer established the' homestead on which he had lived ever since. Mr. Taylor was captain of police in Ogden for twelve years and at an earlier earl-ier period served as captain of cavalry, cav-alry, which did good work m Keeping tho settlements free from Indians He also served as county commissioner for two terms. He was tho father of 36 children ''S of whom are alive, and his descend-ants descend-ants number 680, made up of 36 cbil-dren, cbil-dren, 235 grandchildren, 395 CTea grandchildren, and, and 29 great-cro-i grandchildren. b al His sons and daughters and many of his grandchildren and great-grandchU-dren will attend the funeral which i to be held at noon Sunday.
