Show "Democrats h Celebrate Jefferson's !Tjir':hday Apr. 13th Perliminary steps are now being taken by the officers of the Democratic party to celebrate cele-brate Jefferson's Birthdy in a fitting manner. County Chair man L. P. Nelson, will call the County Committee to convene at the City Mail in this city, on he afternoon of April 13th, and at the same time and place there will be a Democratic gathering to which the public will be invked and short addresses, ad-dresses, giving interesting events in the life of the great j Democratic statesman, Thomas Jefferson, will be delivered by I a number of prominent Demo-; Demo-; crates from various parts of the ! county. In the evening there v. ill be given at the Armory a Jefferson Day Bad under the management of the Demo cra'iic Organization, . and the nit proceeds f i om such Ball will be forwarded for-warded to the National Committee now having in charge the erection of a magnificient memorial in honor of the Author of the Declaration of . Ihuepen dance, the immortal Thomas Jefferson. J This will lie the opening incident , in this year's campaign by the Demo cratic party. i'o cf-.nue steps have yet been taken looking towards ihe holding of any Democratic Convention, Conven-tion, but the Counny Committee will on the date above mentioned fix a time and place for the election of delegates to the State Convention, which in turn will elect delegates to the National Convention to be held at Baltimore on June 25th, ! There are none of the Democrats who have declared themselves as . candidates for any public office at this early date. J |
