Show MOXSEX FAMILY MEET OX FATHER'S BIRTHDAY - On Thursday, April 8th. the Monsen family of this city celebrated cel-ebrated the 9 0th. anniversary of the birth of their father, Peter Monsen. They gathered at the Armory Hall where dinner din-ner was served to 115. There are 15 children counted in the family. They are Mrs. J. C. Madsen of Manti, Joseph and James Monsen of. this city, Mrs. A. S. Jensen of Axtell, Mrs. O. M. Aldrich of this city, Mrs. Thos. Kirby and Peter Monsen of Huntington, Mrs. Chris Jorgensen of Ephraim, Mrs. A. M. Beck of Chester, John Monsen of Aberdeen, Ida. Mrs. Peter Johansen of Castle Dale, Mrs. Gilbert Beckstrom, Mrs. Jos. Johansen, and Mrs. Merlin Anderson of this city, also their uncle Jud,ge George Christensen. They were all present. There are 98 grand children and 88 great grand children. A program was given in the Elite Theatre consisting of the song, "Our Mountain Home So Dear," an invocation by Bishop Larsen, and then America was sung. A short speech was given by the honored guest, in relating some of the early day experiences. Then a piano solo by Helen Ericksen and a speech by Pres. C. N. Lund. A song by the Monsen family, "Will You Love Me When I'm Old." Judge Christensen gave a short talk and also Bishop Peter Monsen of Goshen, Ida. The closing song was "God Be With You Till We Meet Again." The benediction was offered by Bishop Mcintosh. A dance was given in the evening for all married people. |
