Show SERENADED BY THE CHO1Ft1 TABEB1TACLE SINGER spL PRISE PRESIDENT SNOW Gthh V Three Hundred of them Gather Outside Out-side His Residence and Lift their I Voices Addrcsed by the President I The Tabernacle choir or about 300 I I I members of it sprung a very pleasant I surprise on President Lorenzo Snow > last night I was the regular practice f f evening and after a short session at i the choir hal on Richards street they I adjourned to President Snows rest j deuce The first intimation of the visit I I given to the head oC the church was gen when lie heard the strains of the well known hymn Oh Jly l Father outside ho I doors i Thi song finished the choristers were Invited indoors and the building made I brilliant by the glow of a myriad of electric lights For a time it fairly rivaled ri-valed the Alta club building across the way Once inside and after a cordial vvel I I come from the various members of the I family the choir sang We Thank I I Thee Oh God for a Prophet very sweetly President Snow responded In a speech of fifteen minutes duration in which he heartily thanked the choir for the honor conferred It was an honor ho said and he could find no adequate words In which to thank the young I brethren and sisters for the courtesy lie urged the members to use the name diligence in the future as they had in I time pasi and said that i they did so tha Lord would bless them They would not only sing praises on earth but altoo in heaven Turning to Prof Stephens President Snow complimented compliment-ed I him upon the good work of tho past and wished him odspeud on the Journey Jour-ney soon to be undertaken by him and < Willard LhilstopluTSon Let the Mountains Shout for Toy r was then given by the choir when a general handshaking followed As a t farewell and on tho outside the I choir gave two more songs Goodnight Good-night and Farewell and then departed de-parted the venerable president waving n farewell amid the laughter and good wishes of the choir |
