Show I PIONEER OF 1850 IS DEAD AD AT 86 FARMINGTON- FARMINGTON Joshua FARMINGTON Adams 86 Utah pioneer of 1850 and one of the first men to help build a bridge across the Bear river In Idaho Idaho- died at his home Monday at 10 p.m. p.m. p. p m. m of pneumonia He had been Ill a brief time Mr Adams was was' born In Mount Pisgah Iowa December De- De comber cember 30 1843 1848 son of Elias Ellas and Melinda R Il alley a Il e y Adams The family ram fam ily lIy crossed the ther plains to Utah the same year and y J li 11 homesteaded o 0 m at W Ii N. N W what h hat a t now Is 15 Joshua Adams Kaysville In later years Mr Adams moved to Idaho and settled at what now Is Fairview He helped develop Preston built the first bridge across the Bear river in 1899 and was the largest contractor on the construction construction construction tion of the Oneida Onelda canal canala a 1500 job He was president of the Oneida irrigation district for four lour years and a director for six Mr Adams was a pioneer railroad man and prior to moving to Idaho had worked on the Union Pacific railroad during the building of the tracks through Weber canyon in 1868 He returned to Utah in 1927 from Idaho and since that time had lived here An active member of the L. L D. D S. S church he had ad served as pr president si ent of the Young Mens Men's Mutual Improvement Improvement Im Tm- provement association at Clifton Idaho Mr ir Adams married Sarah CriddIe Crid Grid Griddle dIe dle le December 29 1873 In 1886 he was was' was marr married ed a a second time to Emma Gilbert rt Following the death of ot his second wife ho he was married to Mrs Irs Au August Lundberg Nelson In Farmington at the age of 83 Surviving are the following children chil chil- dren then Job Adams Warren Id Idaho Mrs rs Sarah M.
