Show Thompson News Notes . . . By Virginia Gruver Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Curtis went to Fruita, Colo, to do some shopping and other business. Those going from Thompson to the meeting at Moab were Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Jeffries, Lester Rogers, Virginia and Jesse Gruver. The meeting i i held in the County Court House for zoning the county. The meeting didn't amount to much toward zoning. The speaker spoke for 2Vi hours but little was said. He talked mostly about Spanish Valley and Utah Co. We don't care what went on in Utah Co., we want to know what they are doing to us around here. Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Curtis went to Moab to wash and for business. Jack Miller went to Grand Jet. Saturday on business. By Betty Jeffries Russell and Loreen Bussick and Don and Marty Christen-son Christen-son hosted a community party Sunday night. It was a dinner in celebration of their one year at the Silver Grill and a Christmas party. Most of the town enjoyed a very nice , evening. Thank you to the Bussick's and Christenson's. Visitors for Suzie Jeffries for Sunday night were Pinkie and Wanda Hawkins from Moab. They spent the night with Suzie. Also spending the night at the Jeffries were Betty's sister, Judy Delanty and daughters Gwen and Lynly from Montrose, Colo. Smokey Delanty, the girls dad, came from Bakersfield, Calif, and spent the night too. Art Thompson made a trip to Montrose, Colo, for Russell Bussick to pick up a motor that Russell had bought- Tom Perkins called from Fort Knox, Kentucky to tell his Thompson family, the Jeffries, that he had made it O.K. to his new post. Also he had stopped in Mt. Carmel, 111. to visit with Boyd Frame who is working there. Boyd is Betty Jeffries son. |
