weaker until his life faded away the noble spirit winging its flight to the great beyond at the time above stated tho the cause of death was old age and general debility though ho he had reached the ripe age of over eighty yeara there is 13 little doubt that he would have lived several years longer were it not for the fact that duding the win ter 1865 lie he lost his hia way while journeying aiom preston idaho to soda springs in the same state and spent three whole days and nights without fire food or sli shelter iter while wandering around in several feet feel of snow lie ile was with a man by name of william moffat who had been over the road times and who led him astray these three nights in the snow during intense cold weather veather resulted in the permanent impairment of his health
